The Baskets
When The Chicken Basket began serving hungry, road weary travelers in 1938, the meals were served in baskets for easy transport. Customers would, quite literally, run up to the counter and order “a basket.” Each basket was served with a few sides and a heap of napkins. We haven’t changed a thing, only added a few more “basket-worthy” items.

World Famous Fried Chicken in a Basket

As seen on Diners Drive Ins & Dives!   One-half large Grade A chicken, cut into four pieces, seasoned, hand breaded and deep-fried in pure cholesterol-free and trans fat-free shortening. Served with fries, creamy coleslaw, and homemade buttermilk biscuits.

Fried Catfish in a Basket

Hand trimmed, fresh catfish fillets coated with our own crumb and cornmeal breading and deep-fried. Served with fries, freshly made coleslaw and homemade biscuits.

BBQ Baby Back Ribs in a Basket

A full slab of baby back ribs slow cooked and brushed with our special sweet & spicy BBQ sauce. Served with fries, creamy coleslaw, homemade buttermilk biscuits, wet-naps, and a lot of napkins.

Jumbo Fried Shrimp in a Basket

Seven jumbo Gulf of Mexico shrimp lightly breaded and deep-fried. Served with fries, creamy coleslaw, and homemade buttermilk biscuits.
